Your opportunity

This is a newly created role, reporting into the leader of the Global Revenue function. As well as supporting with all aspects of the revenue function both on a day to day basis and strategically, you will have specific responsibility for segregated mandates globally. It provides excellent opportunity for growth and development.

We are at the start of a multi-year Finance Transformation Programme (FTP). We are looking to evolve our function across processes, data and technology to improve efficiency and allow better analysis to support the wider business. This will require contribution and engagement across the Finance function. To support that and aid success, we are investing further in the team and this role will be key to that.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading the global segregated mandates team:

  • build relationships with client-facing teams to onboard mandates including understanding the economics of the arrangements and what they mean for our results

  • manage a global team

  • ensure segregated mandate revenue and rebates are accurately accrued

  • ensure invoices are raised in an accurate manner and shared with our clients on a timely basis

  • manage global debtors and cashflow forecasting

  • drive improvements in processes and reporting

  • Be a key point of contact with the auditors

  • Support the leader of the Global Revenue function

  • throughout the year ensuring excellent delivery of month end and quarterly reporting including insightful analysis and Sarbanes Oxley compliance

  • strategically,including onboarding acquisitions

  • deputizing or taking on additional responsibilities

  • Lead the legal entity control function for one of our regulated UK Investment management companies

  • Support Finance transformation through:

  • participating in current state and future state assessment activities.

  • Creation of current state assessment document with all the gaps including process, technology, controls and change documented.

  • Develop future state process maps and document key design decisions.

  • Work with process owners to identify and resolve all emerging issues on transformation program.

  • Carry out other duties as assigned

    Must have skills

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), with significant post qualification experience in financial control

  • Proven team leadership experience

  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards (U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)) as relevant to revenue

  • Experience of partnering with Senior Management

  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft outlook tools

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to accumulate, organize and assimilate large amounts of data

  • Ability to work accurately and independently with excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation and delivery of workpapers

  • Results driven approach, including ability to make enhancements and improvements to processes and increase transparency of analysis

  • Ability to get up to speed quickly, but also enthusiasm to take time to understand the area and its requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work with the team – and with others at Janus Henderson

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

    Nice to have skills

  • Experience of working in a global organization

  • Investment Management industry experience

  • Experience of working in a SOX environment preferred but not required

  • Proficiency with Power BI or other financial reporting software

  • Proficiency with SAP (ERP, BPC and BAO) will be beneficial
