Amazon Intermodal is looking to hire a Senior Programme Manager to design the network for Amazon to go via Rail in a reliable, fast, efficient, and carbon friendly manners.

This position is based out of our London Corporate Office, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements. The role will include travel up to 15% of the time.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create innovative solutions using data and research to address wider challenges in your organization

  • Work alongside senior leadership to establish and prioritise improvement programmes, seeing them through from start to finish

  • Overseeing complex, cross functional programmes with internal and external stakeholders

  • Owning Amazon Rail's North Star and its development cycles

  • Engaging with Rail partners to drive Amazon's sustainability goals

  • Leveraging large data and performance metrics to drive business results

  • Leading business reviews with Amazon leadership and senior-level Rail executives

  • Partnering with finance, legal and network teams to shape future growth plans and guide Rail and land-side partners through new launches and other special projects

A day in the life

As a Senior Programme Manager at Amazon, you'll lead transformative, data-driven initiatives that drive strategic improvements across the organization. Leveraging your exceptional project management skills, you'll define and execute efficient plans to address complex challenges with creativity and innovation. Your responsibilities will extend beyond process optimizations, as you'll also contribute to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Key duties include reviewing performance with internal and external partners, tracking expansion progress, building business cases, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive operational excellence.

About the team

Amazon has built a robust intermodal rail network that is a key component of its logistics infrastructure.

Amazon's rail operations play a critical role in supporting the company's growing retail and logistics footprint. The team is responsible for planning and executing efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable rail movements between Amazon's fulfillment and transportation hubs.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree

  • Experience defining programme requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience owning programme strategy and end to end delivery

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Experience in programme or project management

  • Experience delivering cross functional projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree

  • Proficiency in SQL

  • Relevant experience in Rail

  • Experience managing teams
