Spark Power Electrical Estimator in London, Ontario

Spark Power, a trusted partner in power in North America, is looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our team. The Electrical Estimator will work closely with the project management and sales team to ensure projects are competitively priced while meeting our high-quality standards.

Here's what you will you do as an Electrical Estimator:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of specifications and drawings

  • Develop material and labor take-offs

  • Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, and engineers.

  • Review estimates with the operations team.

  • Prepare proposals by organizing all material, equipment, labor, and subcontract costs needed to complete the project and present to clients and management.

  • Collaborate with Purchasing, project managers, engineers and other departments to assist with building quotes

  • Track and manage all bids, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation progress.

  • Conduct site visit to gather essential information for accurate estimates.

  • May assist with business development or new customer generation

  • Attend project kick off meetings

  • Maintain and analyze reports

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:

  • 309A Journeyman Electrician license is preferred but not required.

  • Experience working in construction on commercial, industrial and / or institutional projects.

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator or Project Manager.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with motors, transformers, switchgear, control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Ability to build scope of work and clearly communicate with customers

  • Ability to put together a professional presentation

  • Experience creating reports on costing data

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Strong computer skills in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).

  • Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team

  • High attention to detail and ability to meet defined deadlines

  • Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and requirements

  • Deep knowledge of electrical systems and up to date code requirements (OESC).

  • Able to communicate in a professional and concise manner in writing and verbally
