As a Member of Technical Staff in Data Center SSD Firmware, you will lead and be responsible for architecture exploration, pathfinding for new technologies, as well as proof of concept work to bring ideas to reality. You will be part of a team of domain experts in SSD architecture and firmware to innovate, solve DC challenges in areas of power, performance, endurance & overall value add. You will apply your deep knowledge of compute architecture and storage systems in creating next generation of SSDs which could involve in developing and evaluating new algorithms and functionality. You will work closely with system architect to align on new features and on specifications.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 7+ years of knowledge and experience in design/development/architecture of enterprise SSD/storage products.

  • Strong knowledge of SSD architecture including I/O Data Path, FTL, and NAND management.

  • Hands-on-experience in as many areas as possible: PCIe, NVMe, ZNS, NAND media management and algorithm, Firmware, SSD FTL, TLC, QLC

  • Strong working knowledge of firmware development, verification, system failure analysis, embedded systems design and real time embedded systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to find creative solutions to difficult problems.

  • Strong working knowledge of software engineering principles and designing and developing firmware using assembly and C/C++ programming.

  • Strong storage fundamentals and storage protocols.

  • Strong working knowledge analyzing complex firmware and hardware issues.

  • Strong knowledge working identifying and optimizing performance of critical algorithms.

  • Knowledge of the Agile software development process life cycle.

  • Strong knowledge of structured firmware development process and life cycle.

  • Strong skills in communicating complex technical ideas/concepts.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively (written and verbal) across multiple locations and teams.

  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$161,000.00 - $282,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
