The Material Expediter will coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies in accordance with repair and shipping schedules or the warehouse supervisor’s priorities. The Material Expediter also helps assist in performing inventory control, stocking, and storing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support government customers.

  • Monitor and maintain materials, consumables, spare parts, property receipts, and computerized inventory control transactions.

  • Perform, order picking, fulfillment, kitting, research orders for discrepancies, and/or provide other similar support.

  • Provide support for receiving, stocking, and storing parts and consumables.

  • Provide support for annual physical inventories.

  • After training, provide support for hazardous material shipments.

  • Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety rules.

  • Assist with maintaining records and conducting reorder inventories and cycle counts by recording quantity and type of material/parts distributed and on-hand.

  • Verify that delivered materials match order specifications.

  • Assist in researching inventory discrepancies and issues.

  • Assist in checking stock items for reordering and preparing to reorder requests.

  • Package and prepare for shipment of parts and consumables.

  • Stock merchandise for repair parts in appropriate locations.

  • Assist in preparing requisitions and purchasing items.

  • Stage merchandise for shipping and complete necessary documents and/or entries into Maximo.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • 18+ months of related warehouse experience

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems or similar program

  • Valid Forklift Operator certificate

  • Valid driver’s license

  • BI background check required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Excel and Word at intermediate skill level.

  • Detail oriented and the ability to effectively coordinate multiple resources, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and work under limited supervision.

  • Ability to communicate, oral and written, effectively with management on all levels, strong relationship building, and customer service skills.

  • Possess an understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential.

  • Must possess an understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles.

  • Must have the ability to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays if required.
