What You Will Do

The Quantum Technologies Team in MPA-Q is seeking a motivated Post-Baccalaureate researcher in experimental atomic, optical, and laser physics. Our current research focuses on atomtronics/atom interferometry [arXiv:2201.12461, arXiv:2201.11888] with ultracold atoms. The researcher appointed to this position will work with our systems for generating and manipulating ultracold Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) to be utilized for waveguide atom interferometry. The successful candidate will collaborate with staff scientists, postdocs, and students in the team.

Applicants should have substantial experience with experiments in cold atom and/or optical and laser physics, such as free-space and fiber optics, opto-electronics, and laser frequency stabilization.

Education/Experience: B.A. or B.S. in physics, with an emphasis on atomic, optical and laser physics, completed within the last 3 years and a 3.0 Cumulative GPA.

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of cold atom physics.

Knowledge of optics and laser physics.

Location: This position will be physically located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
