    Position description

The Pajonk Laboratory at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for an Assistant Project Scientists. This appointment will be under the supervision of Professor Frank Pajonk, M.D., Ph.D. in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.

The candidate will be expected to make significant and creative contributions to interdisciplinary translational research to develop novel cancer therapies. The candidate will test the ability of novel compounds to prevent radiation-induced plasticity of cancer cells and develop lead compounds into drug candidates.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a basic science field to apply. Applicants must also be experienced with standard cell and molecular biology techniques including but not limited to tissue culture of primary cells, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, Flow Cytometry, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, etc. Candidates with experience in cancer stem cell biology and radiobiology, murine syngeneic glioma models and PDOX’s, pharmacokinetic testing, and bulk RNAseq, scRNAseq, ChiP-PCR, ATACseq and bioinformatics are preferred.

The candidate is expected to work closely with the PI and collaborators on research projects. The candidate is also expected to analyze data, write manuscripts, and help write and prepare grant applications.

The level of appointment will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications. Qualifications

Basic qualifications
