The Opportunity

Netflix is seeking a talented Visa Associate to join the business visa unit of the Minors, Immigration & Diligence (MInD) team within Employment Legal. The MInD team serves as internal legal counsel for Netflix’s immigration needs across all aspects of the business (corporate, productions, publicity). Our team sets and implements cohesive practices across Netflix to be thoughtful and innovative with respect to global immigration requirements, while maintaining efficient and strategic workflows. The Visa Associate role will focus on internal Netflix employee visa needs for travelers across the Americas. In addition, this role will collaborate with Visa Associates in the EMEA and APAC regions to provide seamless timezone coverage and ensure a harmonized global approach, aiming to provide an efficient and effective experience for Netflix employees traveling for business purposes.

The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in visa and immigration advisory services, visa applications, and processing, have a comprehensive understanding of visa requirements both regionally and globally, and be able to provide bespoke advice tailored to the specific needs of employees. A self-motivated individual should showcase an unwavering commitment to excellence, agility, proactive problem-solving, and an ability to juggle multiple diverse responsibilities while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. This is a demanding and fast-paced role with growth potential that requires curiosity and significant initiative.

Your Responsibilities

  • Research and advice on visa and immigration requirements, primarily for outbound travel from the Americas region (US, Canada, Latin America), and be prepared to support EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) as needed.

  • Craft and optimize regional and global visa strategies aligning with Netflix’s needs, adapting to business and legal landscape shifts, including by keeping abreast of changes and/or new regulations and implementing processes and workflows to adapt accordingly.

  • Create visa submission strategies and ensure accurate and timely submissions with third-party visa service providers, including by coordinating with employees to gather and process necessary visa application materials.

  • Identify and manage relationships with visa and immigration service providers in the region, reviewing performance and renegotiating terms as required.

  • Field and service visa-related escalations, strategizing resolutions for denials, expediting request needs, or complications in the region.

  • Develop, update, and implement training as required for regional partners on best practices and watchouts in each region/country.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively get ahead of and understand visa requirements for upcoming projects and business operational needs.

  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance visa processing, including by leveraging new technologies for efficient processing and management, evaluating places where building in-house capabilities may better serve business needs, developing templates and guidance documents, etc.

To Be Successful

  • You’ve done this before. Meaningful experience (5-7 years) in immigration and/or business visa processing at a global or multinational company/entertainment studio, or immigration firm.

  • You have a deep knowledge of business visa/immigration processes in a variety of countries, particularly in the Americas region, and experience researching international laws and policies. Familiarity with EMEA and/or APAC regions is an added advantage.

  • You possess excellent organizational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, an ability to work well with changing information, and to manage competing deadlines.

  • You are effective and concise in your communications and have strong interpersonal skills, building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders, team members, and cross-functional partners.

  • You exercise great judgment can articulate sound reasoning for decisions, and are comfortable leading and advising through tricky situations that involve gray areas, nuanced analysis, and/or risk assessment.

  • You are a resourceful problem solver, taking initiative and leveraging internal and external resources to find the best solutions.

  • You are a collaborative team player who acts with a sense of urgency and adaptability in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

  • Multilingual abilities are a plus, Spanish and Portuguese proficiency preferred.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000 - $350,000.
