Job Summary

The University of Southern California is seeking a dedicatedDental Patient Treatment Coordinatorto join our dynamic dental clinic team. This role involves performing various tasks associated with dental management, including patient registration, insurance authorization, and patient scheduling. You will work closely with patients and dentists to arrange comprehensive treatment planning, ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct patients about appropriate dental care treatment using defined policies and procedures.

  • Monitor progress of patient treatment according to authorized sequential treatment plans and ensure appropriate scheduling.

  • Register patients and/or edit registration and dental records, following guidelines to set up patient’s dental charts.

  • Verify insurance utilizing telephone contacts and web inquiries, determine and collect co-pays, and resolve billing and coverage issues.

  • Ensure required pre-authorizations of service are obtained and process workers' compensation patient accounts.

  • Maintain patient rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Maintain a safe environment in accordance with compliance standards, policies, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.

  • 2-3 years of experience in dental management and dental secretarial assistance.

  • Demonstrated experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of dental terminology, PPO, Denti-Cal, and health insurance.

  • Proficiency in dental management software, particularly axiUm.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and telephone skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

The hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00.
