We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospital Medical Insurance Collections Specialist to join our dynamic medical team. The chosen Hospital Medical Insurance Collections Specialist individual will be responsible for effectively managing the insurance collection process, ensuring that claims are handled in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to the highest ethical standards of collection.

Responsibilities:

• Track and manage outstanding insurance claims, conduct follow-ups, and ensure timely resolution.

• Communicate with insurance companies regarding outstanding insurance receipts, inquiries, and any disputed claims.

• Evaluate patient’s financial status and establish budget payment plans.

• Identify and resolve insurance billing issues.

• Understand and follow the insurance claim denial, audit, and appeal processes.

• Manage account balances to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations in addition to company policies and procedures.

• Insurance: HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal

  Requirements

• Prior experience as an Insurance Collections Specialist, preferably in the healthcare industry.

• Thorough understanding of the insurance claims process, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD, and CPT codes.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented.

• Proficiency in using medical software and computer systems.

• Exceptional customer service skills.
