UCLA Health Patient Service Representative - Children's Health Center in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Children's Health Center in Westwood is a premier primary and subspecialty pediatric clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care to our young patients. Our team of compassionate professionals is committed to ensuring every child receives the highest quality of care.

As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare team, providing vital administrative support and ensuring seamless care coordination for our patients. You will help patients navigate our health system, ensuring they receive the services and collaborate closely with physicians to ensure patients receive comprehensive, timely care they need. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Obtain authorizations for patient care

  • Referral processing

  • Triage messages

  • Appointment scheduling

  • Review of provider schedules

  • Review and upload of medical records

Salary Range: $28.23 - $40.44 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.

  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.

  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.

  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.

  • Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows.

  • Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programs.

  • Knowledge of hospital computer system, and personal computer systems and the various software products to perform administrative work.

  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process & managed care programs.
