The Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles invites applications for a one-year post-doctoral fellowship in Arabic. Researchers with training in Arabic literature and culture are encouraged to apply. This fellowship is renewable for a second year, contingent upon administrative approval.
In addition to research, the successful candidate is expected to teach 3 courses per academic year and to participate in the intellectual life of the department and other units on campus. This person will receive a stipend of $70,000 plus benefits. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. within the last five years or at the latest by August 16, 2024, the start date of the position. In addition to the letter of application, applicants should include their curriculum vitae, a writing sample, and sample syllabi (attach all as one PDF documentduring the application process). Three letters of reference will be asked of finalists. Applications are due immediately. The position will remain open until filled.
