Insight Global Senior Network Architect in Los Angeles, California

Job Description

A higher education client of ours is looking for a Senior Network Architect to join their team. This is a 6-12 month contract to start, and there is a possibility of extensions. This is remote role with travel to Los Angeles up to once per month. In this role you will work on net new projects that impact different schools across the University. Majority of the work will be discovery, requirements and high level architectural design and solutions. You will work with and alongside an Applications Architect, Platform Architect, Database Architect etc. and will communicate to the engineers to move the needle regarding implementations . The Senior Network Architect is responsible for conceptualizing the network architecture by identifying business requirements, creating designs and prototypes, and executing testing activities. This role develops overall network standards, guidelines, leading edge practices, and approved network techniques and approaches. Projects could be related to security enclaves, how to incorporate new technologies, A/V, digital voice, cloud integration, cloud monitoring, automation and Network Security such as firewalls etc.

Skills and Requirements

6+ years of Networking engineering experience

2+ years of experience as a Network Architect

Strong working knowledge of spine-leaf architecture

Cloud knowledge and experience within AWS

Network Security experience - firewalls, traffic inspection etc.

Strong understanding of VXLAN, BGP and ability to manipulate routing paths

Experience working in an enterprise level environment Working within higher education or a federated environment

Experience working for an ISP null
