Description

A growing nonprofit Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join the team! The role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and requires a range of financial tasks, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting audit activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, verifying supporting documents and approvals.

• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, monthly reports, and budget variance analyses.

• Collaborating with program managers to track and monitor project budgets, expenses, and grants.

• Assisting in the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.

• Preparing and submitting regulatory reports and filings as required by funding sources and government agencies.

• Contributing to the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies.

• Staying updated on nonprofit accounting standards and best practices.

• Processing customer credit applications accurately and efficiently, while maintaining accurate customer credit records.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Sage Intacct Experience

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant in the non-profit sector

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Demonstrable experience with accounting entries

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
