Job Description

One of our gaming startup clients is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to serve as a subject-matter expert and lead the expansion of their data engineering and analytics division. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure for a product that leverages real-time gaming analytics to enhance gamers experiences and performance.

Skills and Requirements

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in the mobile or console gaming industry and a passion for understanding player behavior within game.

• Proven experience with Airflow, DBT, and Databricks is required.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases and data warehousing solutions.

• Expertise in designing and optimizing ETL processes and data workflows.

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and A/B testing methodologies.

• Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Nice to have:

• Experience with structured and unstructured data

• Experience with Postgres and building structured tables

• Experience with Databricks and building structured tables

• Experience with GraphQL

• Experience both on an enterprise level, working with an AAA gaming company to showcase proven experience handling large amounts of data as well as a start-up environment. null
