Siena College Adjunct Instructor in Computer Science in Loudonville, New York

The Computer Science Department is seeking to hire adjunct instructors to teach one or more in-person sections of Problem Solving with Spreadsheets CSIS-011, for the Fall 2024 Semester.

The CSIS-011 course is a lab-based introduction to solving the kinds of problems amenable to spreadsheet solutions. Provides a foundation for analyzing business and decision support problems using spreadsheet technology. Typical techniques studied may include absolute and relative addressing, charting and conditionals. Students will be expected to apply their skills to various business scenarios and cases. Each section meets once weekly for 2 hours (2 contact hours for the instructor). A course coordinator manages many of the administrative tasks associated with the course. All instructors are responsible for their own grading and are expected to contribute toward the development of common materials used in the class by all instructors.

Salary $1,287.50 per contact hour

The hiring salary above represent the College's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.

Job Requirements:

Ideal candidates will have teaching experience in Computer Science or closely related fields. The candidate should have minimally earned a Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field. Candidates must be able to teach in-person and during regular business and/or evening hours at our Loudonville, NY, campus.

A background screening will be required.
