Summary This position is located in the Healthcare System Robley Rex VA Medical Center Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth (RPM-HT) Program and performs a variety of program support functions. It will serve as the PSA (Program Support Assistant) for the RPM-HT Program which is aligned under Telehealth Services and Patient Care Services. This position reports to the Nurse Manager (NM) of the RPM-HT. Responsibilities THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION Duties include but may not be limited to: Serve as back-up timekeeper. Communicate with patients within the program. Address program administrative needs. Serve as a point of contact for Veterans, medical center staff, community agencies and others who contact the office. Establish administrative contacts at the local and network levels to support and further develop the RPM-HT Program. Assists with receiving and processing documents and reports in accordance with established procedures. Maintain inventory of office supplies. Gathers, prepares and interprets data for various admissions, discharges and patient census reports. Uses word processing software. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications: TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience requirements, you must self-certify that you are able to type at least 40 words per minute. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS5) in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties: Prepares documents for approval.; Notify Leadership and responsible parties of impending suspense dates.; Uses machines, tools, instruments, or equipment effectively.; Handles customer related issues with tact and diplomacy.; Manages calendar to include scheduling/rescheduling appointments and resolving scheduling conflicts.; Answer telephone calls and routes messages as appropriate.; Serves as Timekeeper. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Clerical Communications Computer Skills Manages and Organizes Information IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary in nature. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there is walking; standing; bending and carrying of light to medium weight items such as equipment/devices, papers, books, etc. often up and down flights of stairs across the VA Campus. Additional Information Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
