About the role:

The Sr. Manager, Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) directly manages a team of engineering professionals responsible for developing and executing projects to achieve the annual operating margin expansion targets. In addition to a directly managed team this individual must partner with leaders from many other functions such as Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Quality to drive inputs, collaboration, and project execution to contribute to the total global VAVE goal. The individual must also develop and own a strategic roadmap that evolves the VAVE project portfolio and processes and imbues VAVE into the culture of the global organization within all functions. In this role, you will have direct impact to the P&L.

This person will be expected to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure that Hach meets its annual VAVE savings target by developing a robust project funnel, executing projects in a timely and cost-conscious manner, and accurately forecasting financial impact. This will be accomplished by directly managing a team and indirectly influencing stakeholders across the business.

  • Evaluate the feasibility and cost savings impact of ideas through cost estimating, technical and manufacturing feasibility assessments, and document the results.

  • Identify and execute initiatives to increase value of a product (without increasing cost) as part of overall Value Engineering responsibility.

  • Investigate new manufacturing technologies to reduce labor costs, cycle times, and increase plant productivity/efficiencies.

  • As the owner of all VAVE projects, work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Finance and other departments to achieve results as part of the VAVE funnel.

  • Demonstrate leadership through development and mentoring of staff, responsiveness to business needs and motivation of diverse, cross-functional teams, including influencing both internal and external members to achieve positive business results.

Are you qualified?

  • You have your Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering field (i.e., mechanical, electrical), or related field.

  • You have 10+ years work experience delivering projects that favorably impact quality, delivery or cost which change commercially released products.

  • You have 5+ years leadership experience.

  • You have a strong and broad understanding of Good Engineering Practices (user and design requirements) and statistical analysis to identify issues and when the design should be improved.

The salary range for this role is $151,000-$170,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
