A company in Sterling Heights is actively seeking an Inside Sales Specialist.

Inside Sales Specialist

We are seeking an Inside Sales Specialist to join our fast-paced sales team in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The successful candidate will have previous sales and customer service experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Great ability to multi-task and is well organized with a customer-orientated approach.

Please Note: This position is hourly with no commission structure. The position is on-site only at our Sterling Heights, MI location. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern with 1-hour lunch break.

About the Company:

The company focuses on design, manufacture, and install automation equipment and assembly conveyors for assembly facilities of all sizes. The company is a leading online seller of direct to end-customer conveyor systems. They are also a leader in providing integrated material handling systems for indoor vertical farming facilities of all sizes.

Job Duties:

  • Answering and directing incoming phone calls (can be up to 50 a day)

  • Work with customers to determine products that best fit their application via phone and email

  • Assist with customer quotations

  • Assist with issuing and processing returns

  • Perform a variety of customer service and administrative tasks (I.e., scanning, filing, etc.)

  • Assist with customer order issues or concerns

  • Assist with processing online orders and shipments

  • Quote and book shipments for customer orders

     

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of previous customer service and/or sales experience (2 years preferred).

  • Experience working with an accounting and/or ERP database (preferred).

  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Outlook and Excel).

  • Self-motivated, team player, quick learner, driven to excel with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task in a busy sales office is essential.

  • A pleasant phone voice and easy-going personality.

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.

  • Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is helpful but not required.

     

You will need to learn about our product range and quickly develop all the above sales and customer service skills. Flexibility to move between different tasks is important. About 80% of the day-to-day tasks relate to handling orders and sales or customer service inquiries and the other 20% is in further developing our e-commerce capability.

 

Highly Desired Additional Experience:

  • Prior experience in a related field is highly preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Associate's or bachelor's in business, marketing, or related fields (Preferred).

     

Job Type: Full-time

Hourly: $21.63 - $28.84 per hour ($45,000.00 - $60,000.00/year).

Shift: 8-hour shift, Day shift

Weekly day range: Monday to Friday
