If so, UW Credit Union is hiring a new Staff Accountant join its Accounting team! The Staff Accountant plays an integral role in the department and is most responsible for completing daily reconciliations and accounting estimates. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality as you will have access to both employee and member information. When not completing your day-to-day tasks, you may be working on ad hoc report requests, developing a recommendation for the next process improvement, or assisting a team member in completing tasks. Are you ready to bring your analytical self to UW Credit Union? Learn more below and apply today! Responsibilities What You\'ll Do: Prepare accounting estimates based on GAAP and internal policies. Estimates include, but not limited to: Fixed Assets, Investments, Prepaid expenses and accruals, Card and ATM network settlements Facilitate daily settlements with third parties via wire and ACH Complete member incoming and outgoing wire requests, working closely with Membership Services and Mortgages to resolve issues Perform daily intraday balancing for all account positions to ensure adequate reserves and sufficient liquidity, communicating with VP and Controller or the Director of Finance to obtain additional liquidity as needed Daily reconciliation on high risk general ledger accounts, including all activity on the Federal Reserve (including ACH) and other correspondent accounts Partner with other departments regarding reconciliation-related accounting issues, including training and instruction Review Accounts Payable invoices for use tax, remittance, GL coding, and overall accuracy Process, audit, and generate reports for employee payroll Weekly reporting of the Federal Reserve reporting requirement (FR2900) Assist with monitoring and providing support to other departments regarding budget information and variances Perform preparatory work prior to audits and regulatory examinations and remain an active resource during the audit/examination Ad hoc reporting for key stakeholders, including, but not limited to, management and executive teams Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental and corporate goals Assume responsibility for personal development through training, teamwork, and collaboration Take ownership for change, and identify process improvements where...
