Under the supervision of the Administrative Specialist for the Center for Technology-Enhanced Nursing (CTEN), the Clinical Skills Technician will primarily be responsible for supporting nursing faculty, clinical instructors, and students by preparing the clinical skills environment to accurately represent a clinical setting using real and simulated clinical supplies and equipment. This position will oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of the CTEN mid-fidelity mannequins, including setups and breakdowns of human patient simulator equipment, partial task trainers, medical equipment, and specialized simulation training software during clinical training and assessment programs. No two days will look alike in this role. CTEN is a 5,000-square-foot space that includes 4 skills labs, 2 assessment labs, a simulated hospital environment, a simulated clinic environment, and a simulated home environment designed to support faculty and clinical instructors by offering students opportunities to explore and learn the role of the professional nurse in a variety of unique care settings. CTEN typically operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm and core work hours are between these hours will be set upon hire. Work hours will need to be shifted to meet operation needs and occasional work in the evenings and/or weekends may be required. Scheduling deviations will be discussed in advance with the supervisor.
