JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of its School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM). UW-Madison is a highly ranked, internationally regarded land-grant university committed to excellence in research, teaching, and public service, with revenues of \$2.4 billion, a student body of approximately 50,000 and faculty/staff of approximately 25,000. The university seeks an individual with a record of leadership who can extend the school\'s positive trajectory in advancing its excellence in research, education, clinical practice, and public service through a bold vision of the role of veterinary medicine in discovery, research, and global health. The school is dedicated to advancing animal and human health with science and compassion. It consistently ranks among the top ten in the nation and is a leader in veterinary, basic, and translational research to advance the concept of one health. It has graduated nearly 2900 Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and 500 MS and PhD students since the school opened in fall 1983. The Dean serves as the chief academic and executive officer of the school with responsibility for faculty and staff development, personnel oversight, fundraising, budget planning and management, curriculum, student academic affairs, clinical resources, and facilities development. The school is comprised of 380 veterinary students and approximately 875 faculty, staff, and trainees with a budget of approximately \$100 million, including research expenditures of \$42 million. The Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine reports to the chancellor and the provost, serves on the university\'s Deans Council, and provides leadership for veterinary medicine and public health initiatives across the campus.
