JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: At the Fluno Center Line Cooks are responsible for preparing high quality food for our hotel and conference guests. Our Line Cooks receive and prepare orders in Smitty\'s Study Pub, they assist with catering and banquet events, they prepare food for our break stations and they assist with buffet breakfast and lunch in the dining room. To be successful in this role you will: * Have knowledge of food production techniques * Be able to coach and train cooking skills * Have excellent customer service skills * Have superior interpersonal communication skills * Enjoy and thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment This is your opportunity to develop your culinary and leadership skills with a great team. Responsibilities: Performs a variety of food preparation activities and related tasks according to quality and safety standards in dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals. 50% Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods 5% Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities 20% Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas 15% Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures 10% Oversight and supervision of culinary production team Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
