There is an exciting opportunity for a Privacy analyst professional to join American Express Privacy Center of Excellence (CoE) - part of International Operational Excellence.

The first line Privacy Practices&Risk Management teams within the Privacy CoE are responsible for the implementation of high-quality Privacy risk management standards and practices across Europe, APAC and LACC and for increasing the awareness of privacy standards, the effectiveness of controls, compliance with regulations, and the adoption of industry best practice throughout the Company.

Reporting to the Manager - International Privacy Practices&Risk Management - the Privacy Analyst role will play a key part supporting the team with the design and execution of controls, processes, and procedures to ensure the proper usage and safeguarding of customer personal data, and other confidential information throughout the Business Units (Bus) and the Company.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Privacy Support: Acting as a subject matter expert in privacy by supporting the BUs with privacy queries and projects impacting privacy/data protection across EMEA

  • Governance Framework: Support activities in relation to maintenance of the privacy governance framework. Partner with Operational Excellence teams across Europe, APAC and LACC to implement and execute high-quality privacy risk management standards and practices across EMEA and to increase awareness of privacy standards, controls, regulations, and industry best practice

  • Privacy Risk Assessments: support the Manager and business on performing privacy assessments (e.g., DPIA, LIA, etc.) and driving consistent guidance.

  • Issue Prevention: support the business activities to prevent and resolve privacy issues, granting effective process and controls execution.

  • Management Information Reporting: support on the creation and distribution of accurate reporting and metrics on risks, issues and control deficiencies, result of self-assessments, tests, audits, external events, etc.

  • Training and Awareness: support the creation and the maintenance of training material. To be proactive on supporting awareness campaigns across the business, promoting privacy culture and educate on changes to laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in Privacy (GDPR and other Privacy regulations), with experience on supporting privacy queries and privacy assessments

  • Proficiency in English

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality; strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated, business and customer focused with excellent relationship and organizational skills

  • Ability to operate within a policy & process driven environment and to maintain risk management / policy standards

  • Great teammate with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Privacy and Data Protection

  • Data Protection and Privacy Professional Certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/A, CIPP/US)
