Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries is seeking a skilled and motivated electrical technician to develop, implement, and support the electronic repair center (ERC) for Fab 8, in Malta, New York. This position is being developed to assist in productivity improvements for semiconductor equipment, which is accomplished by enabling higher equipment availability and a reduction in spending. This position is in the 300mm factory in Malta, New York. This is a normal schedule (5x2, Monday–Friday position), but will require flexibility across all shifts to obtain the results the fabricator requires. A successful Fab 8 Electronic Repair - Electrical Technician is self-motivated and must work effectively in a team or individual situations; demonstrates flexibility regarding assignments, overtime, and work area.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide bench repair for electronic components (PCBs, Controllers, Cables, Robots, Power Supplies), automated material handler components and systems repair/refurb, and computer/controller repair for the Electronic Repair Shop at Fab 8
Generate and execute standard work practices for electronic repair.
Develop Electronic Repair Pipelines & Standard Work for Repair Work
Develop and implement standards and standard work by utilizing job breakdown sheets and ensure training plans are in place for team members
Work with Modules to Determine High Leverage Opportunities and turn them into Productivity Results
Support fab for critical tool down repairs with high quality and efficiency
Required Qualifications:
Education – Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Military Equivalent, Trade Equivalent, or equivalent experience
Experience – Min of 4 years’ experience
Travel – Up to 10%
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a tightly coupled team.
Language Fluency – Fluent in English Language – written & verbal
Physical Capacity Demands –
Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements
Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment
Lifting to 40 pounds / bending / twisting
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing
Direct experience with electronic repair of PCB/Controllers/Robots/Power Supplies
Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team
Expected Salary Range
$52,500.00 - $107,000.00
The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
