Summary of Role:

Support engineering staff in GF FAB 8 (Malta, NY) location in data input, analysis, and decision making regarding supplier quality commodity management. Commodities will include but not be limited to chemicals, gases, slurries, resists, coatings, wafers, and equipment used in the semiconductor industry. This is a fast passed environment where updates and decisions need to be made quickly and on a daily basis.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Update commodities on hold for various reasons each morning in order for engineers to report status

  • Assist engineers in determining why commodities are on hold, solving the problem, and releasing to manufacturing

  • Assist engineers in the first few steps of 8D problem solving to ensure containment of any suspect commodity and prevent it from being released to the FAB.

  • Analyze information in various databases in order to assure all is up to date, suppliers remain qualified, and that risks of material run out due to quality reasons are eliminated

  • Assist engineers in SCAR input and investigation

  • Attend meetings (usually remotely) with suppliers when needed

  • Work with engineers and suppliers to return out of spec. materials

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – High School Degree or GED

  • Experience - At least 4 years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or similar high tech. industry .

  • Skills Ability to learn and work with multiple internal and commercial data bases, including Microsoft Office products .

  • Strong desire to learn and implement new ideas and procedures on a regular basis

  • Travel – Up to 5%

  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal

  • Physical Demands – Office Environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education – Associates Degree or higher in technical area

  • Experience - 6+ years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or similar industry

  • Skills - Basic Project Management Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong planning & organizational skills.

Expected Salary Range

$52,500.00 - $107,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
