Full Service Engineering consulting firm is urgently hiring for a Water Resource/Hydraulic civil engineer. This position will provide leadership opportunities for the development of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, outfall analysis, and stream restoration for a wide range of transportation design projects. Typical projects range from large design/build transportation projects to traditional projects for local government, state, and private sectors. This individual will be responsible for the following:

• Lead technical discussions and oversee the development of the water resource/hydraulic design.

• Leads project team meetings and presents specific aspects of water resource/hydraulic design.

• Provides design support on multiple projects of moderate size and leads designs on smaller projects.

• Maintains high standards of work product and provides quality control for peers.

• Interacts with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors.

• Assists the project manager with schedule and budget requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred

At least 5 years of experience in Water resource/hydraulic Engineering design

Experience with DOT (Department of Transportation) or VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) local policies and procedures is preferred

Experience in technical design in water resource/hydraulic design and familier with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and DEQ standards

Knowledge of and prior experience in using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
