Description
The Security Associate secures and safeguards the facility to which they are assigned, preventing the loss of Goodwill property, and providing a safe and secure environment for our employees and visitors. SPECIFIC DUTIES
Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
Greet the public in a polite and courteous manner.
Ensure the safety and security of both customers and employees.
Develop a working knowledge of Point of Sale/RFID system utilized at Goodwill retail locations.
Monitor customers exiting retail locations to guard against theft and shoplifting.
Monitor customer activity on the sales floor to emphasize loss prevention from theft or shoplifting.
Actively deescalates incidents and maintains a calm environment even in stressful situations.
Provide security services for Goodwill buildings as assigned.
Responsible for reporting suspicious or unusual activity to the on-site manager and/or the Director of Loss Prevention.
Provide written incident reports to the Director of Loss Prevention.
Follows all company policies and safety procedures.
Ensure location is properly secured upon closing.
Must maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times. Must wear company issued uniform.
Regular attendance is required.
Other non-essential duties as assigned.

Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other Goodwill employees, donors, and other members of the public.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to engage in prolonged sitting, walking, and standing.
Vision corrected to within normal limits.
Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Prior experience in the security field preferred. SORA certification preferred, but not required.
