M Health Fairview is looking for a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist at Fairview St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. We are known for our award-winning heart, stroke and cancer care. Imaging Technologists deliver services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
St. John's offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients
We have outpatient access seven days a week
1.0FTE (80 hours worked per two week pay period)- ADIT position
8 hour shifts

Responsibilities Job Description
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).
Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve efficient patient outcomes
Performs individualized, conscientious patient care and performs high quality examinations
Identifies relevant data from images accurately
Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs
Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
Verify patient identification and documentation
Connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
Ensures patient data integrity
Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
Follows infection control guidelines
Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members
Responds appropriately to emergent situations
Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances
Acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution
Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure
Participates as an active team member
Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
Cleans and maintains room and supplies
Provides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.
Contributes to a positive work environment.
Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines
Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.
Maintains a high level of proficiency and accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility
Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
Qualifications
Required
Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Basic Life Support(BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred
1 or more years of experience in a related role
Additional certifications in Imaging
ARRT CT certification or successful completion within 18 months
Additional Requirements (must be obtained or completed within a period of time):
Understanding of current MN Dept of Health Regulations.
Knowledge of quality control and safety standards.
Previous ambulatory care experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills.
