Volt LAB Technician II in Maplewood, Minnesota

Volt is immediately hiring a Lab Tech II in Maplewood, MN, with a well-known industry leader. In this role you switch between direct involvement in our processing line, aiding product developers with coating operations, and performing analytical tasks to characterize samples and aid product development. This is a first shift position. As a Lab Tech II you will:

  • Operate various mechanical equipment, safe handling of chemicals, meticulous documentation of experiments, and collaborative problem-solving within a team.
  • Will work under moderate supervision, identify issues/problems, and may require assistance in resolving them.
  • Perform chemical, biological, physical, and/or mechanical analyses and tests necessary for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
  • Compile, analyze, interpret and document results.

Estimated Duration up to 24 months. The ideal candidate will have:

  • BS Technical degree (preferred), in a relevant science or engineering field (ex. Chemistry, materials science, or mechanical engineering) preferred
  • The ability to follow procedures and methods and to work effectively on a self-directed team is essential.
  • A good mechanical aptitude and skills, along with experience and specific training in inspection procedures and/or the product line, are necessary.
  • Prior experience in a lab or technical environment is preferred. Proficiency in computer use, along with strong communication and time management skills, is required
