We are currently seeking a technician to work in our Chemistry Department located in our Marietta, GA office. The Chemistry Department at ATS has a broad range of analytical capabilities. Whether the customer needs to know the composition of a metal alloy or an unknown process contaminant they just found, ATS Chemistry can determine the material composition and identification of their samples. Position Description
The position at ATS, Inc. will involve sample preparation and analysis of various materials. The analytical instrumentation and techniques to be used will include ion chromatography, combustion analysis, optical emission spectroscopy, XRF, wet chemistry and gravimetric techniques.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Sample preparation of samples---involves using hand tools to remove samples and then preparing the samples for combustion ion chromatography analysis.
Prepare chemical reagents and solutions to be used in chemical analysis.
Operate analytical balances for weighing samples and chemicals.
Prepare reference standards for various analytical techniques.
Perform routine chemical analyses employing both wet chemical and instrumental techniques including gravimetric, titrimetric, spectrophotometric, spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques.
Prepare form reports for customer as required.
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively on teams by interacting with other scientists, engineers, and technicians.
Good problem solving skills and the willingness to solve complex problems using a systematic approach.
Motivated to meet analysis deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
Exhibits initiative, curiosity, and a positive attitude on how to get the job done.
Essential to the success in this role will be excellent verbal and written skills in the English language.
Educational Requirements
Degree in chemistry preferred. Academic lab experience required at a minimum.
