Kenvue is recruiting for a Communications Intern, who is about to complete or has recently completed, a post-graduate program in Corporate Communications, Public Relations or Journalism. We welcome students who are searching for internship opportunities as a part of their program.

The Communications Intern will join the Communications & Public Affairs team in Canada full time, for one year (May 2024– April 2025). This exciting role will offer the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at the world’s largest pure-play consumer health company by revenue, with iconic brands including Aveeno®, BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages, Johnson's®, Listerine®, Neutrogena®, and Tylenol®.

This position reports into to the Director, Communications and is an in-person role-based Markham, Ontario.

What you will do:

The Communications Intern will provide support for internal and external communications initiatives, blending their knowledge and experience in communications, marketing, and public affairs. In this role, the Communications Intern will demonstrate a strong ability to write and build a wide variety of content in a number of formats, such as internal announcements, presentations, articles, web and social media copy.

This role also offers the opportunity to interact with Kenvue employees at all levels, and with other cross-functional partners including Legal, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Government Affairs and IT, as well as public relations and other agencies working on our behalf.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of a wide range of communications materials (email communications, intranet postings, presentations, surveys, calendar invitations, website content, internal videos, social content, in-office digital displays, etc.) and manage communications tools/channels, while learning and understanding Company/Brand Design Guidelines.

  • Support the planning, co-ordination and execution of a variety of employee events, such as Town Hall meetings, celebrations, off-site meetings, in partnership with cross-functional partners and the Communications team

  • Conduct media monitoring for traditional and social media channels for our company and for our brands through the creation of keyword searches while continuously assessing the results and adapting as needed

  • Actively participate in team meetings and assist team members as needed

  • Proactively work with the Communications team to establish and track campaign and program results (individual & team)

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited College/University in a Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, Public Relations or related undergraduate or post-graduate degree program with an interest in pursuing a career in Communications/Public Affairs.

  • Fundamental understanding of health care industry is considered an asset.

Candidates should also possess the following skill sets:

  • Exceptional writing skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary, clarity, brevity, engagement, proofreading and revising)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint), Zoom and Adobe Illustrator

  • Strong digital and social media acumen

  • Focused and detailed, with sound research and analytical skills

  • Ability to synthesize and translate findings into concrete executable recommendations.

  • Time and priority management

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • “Can do” attitude.
