Cummins Inc. Senior Manufacturing Engineer (m/w/d) in Marktheidenfeld, Germany

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for Cummins in Marktheidenfeld, Bayern, Germany .

Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Specify, purchase, and implement manufacturing machinery, ensuring it meets safety and performance requirements.

  • Continuously optimize existing equipment to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure safety standards are maintained.

  • Apply deep technical knowledge of assembly technology to enhance manufacturing processes and solve complex technical problems.

  • Lead and manage specific projects, from planning through implementation, to ensure manufacturing processes meet safety, manufacturing, business, and product goals.

  • Utilize continuous improvement tools and adhere to Cummins standards to develop and enhance manufacturing standards and working methods.

  • Lead communications with key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional team members to ensure alignment and project success.

  • Collaborate with internal and external resources on specific project assignments to achieve project objectives.

  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and provide coaching to ensure successful implementation of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Fluent in German.

  • Expertise in selecting manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins manufacturing specifications and project needs, ensuring optimal capital investment.

  • Proficient in using digital tools to model, simulate, and analyze manufacturing processes and equipment performance, enabling data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrates deep understanding of manufacturing principles by effectively implementing changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge in Industry 4.0 technologies and data science is highly desirable for driving innovation and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

  • Proven ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives, fostering a team-oriented environment.

  • Skilled in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that clearly convey understanding to diverse audiences.
