Scope: Under the direct supervision of the Tax Director, responsible for the accurate preparation and timely filing of sales and use tax returns, as well as, property tax returns and related filings. Assist with compiling and assembling the data necessary to file the Company's annual Federal, State and local income tax estimates, extensions and returns. Prepare and execute on-line tax payments, journal entries, and account reconciliations generated by the Tax Department.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

  • One to three years of related tax experience preferred

Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to function independently, as well as, collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with spreadsheet applications (Excel) and other MS Office applications, as well as, SAP or similar general ledger systems.

  • Detail-oriented and organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and timely file State sales and use tax returns, as well as, property tax returns and related filings.

  • Assist with the preparation and coordinate the remittance of quarterly estimated tax payments and final tax payments at the Federal, State and local levels

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of tax related general ledger accounts.

  • Support the Director and outside providers in the preparation of the Company's Federal and State income tax returns.

  • Maintain monthly and quarterly corporate income tax and sales tax calendars.

  • Preparation of records related to sales and use tax and income tax audits and new registration obligations.

  • Complete all necessary training as required by assigned department and position.

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and transactions as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Works in an office environment.

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

  • Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor

  • The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
