City of McComb Accounts Payable Clerk in McComb, Mississippi
DUTIES: This is moderatley difficult accounting work in the maintenance, analysis, or review of fiscal, accounting, and budget records and data. Work involves the performance of a variety of clerical tasks connected with maintaining financial and accounting records of the City. Work includes the performance of sub professional accounting duties which require a working acquaintance with professional principles and practices. Detailed instructions and close supervision are received at the beginning of work and on new assignments, but regular assignments may be performed more independently and some initiative may be exercised as experience is gained. Work is usually reviewed for accuracy and adherence to standards, and through reports and accomplishment of desired results.
PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or acceptable equivalent and six (6) hours in accounting or equivalent training in a commercial school or Two (2) years experience in the accounting or bookeeping field.
