Air National Guard Units SECURITY SPECIALIST (FORCE PROTECTION/ANTI-TERRORISM) in McGuire AFB, New Jersey

Summary This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (FORCE PROTECTION/ANTI-TERRORISM), Position Description Number D1692P01 and is part of the NJ 108th SFS, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the installation/wing security specialist for force protection and anti-terrorism (FP/AT) and related physical and operations security and issues, managing assigned program areas, and implementing force protection policy, projects and studies. Responsibilities As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (FORCE PROTECTION/ANTI-TERRORISM), GS-0080-11, you will: Serve as the Wing/Base/Installation ASUS Commander authority and expert on all matters involving anti-terrorism and force protection requirements, policy, procedures, and program statues. Review subordinate unit practices and activities to ensure compliance with directives and integration with other security and related programs. Ensure issues and initiatives, which conflict with security requirements, are identified and resolved in a prompt and efficient manner. Responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and centralized control of the coordinated force protection and anti-terrorism program for the Wing/Base/Installation. Employee analyzes data to identify physical and operations security or compliance or noncompliance, vulnerabilities, trends, strengths, and benchmarks. Determines the need for, organizes, and conducts meetings, conferences, and workshops at the ASUS installation, wing, or subordinate unit level to discuss and resolve specific force protection issues or problems, or highlight new security policies, procedures, and requirements. On a regular basis, accomplish assignments requiring application of concepts to security problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted security measures or procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment. Areas of Consideration: T32-CAT 4: Individuals eligible for membership in the NJ National Guard Military Grades: SSgt/E-5 to MSgt/E-7 Additional Employment Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided analytical, decision making, or administrative skills which demonstrates the candidates ability to accomplish the work of an organization. Experienced in advising the commander on matters of antiterrorism oversees implementation of Air Force and Major Command policies. Working knowledge of information operation security to review classified material. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 12 months of experience in the Security career field or intelligence career field: Experienced in completing and managing the day-to-day operational duties within the Special Security Office in support of all sensitive compartmented information-associated security programs and measures. Experienced in conducting intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices that are necessary to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions Experienced in implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information programs and to protect sensitive compartmented information resources. Experienced in managing and destroying classified material. Very skilled in reading and assessing security and law enforcement reports and statistics. Experienced and knowledge capable to manage and administer the squadron's programming and budgeting actions for initial acquisition, modification, and replacement of security police facilities, vehicles, equipment, and other resources.
