ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR (Admissions Officer – Advanced Professional)

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Penn State Greater Allegheny seeks a bilingual Admissions Counselor fluent in English and Spanish to recruit students for Penn State in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region. Penn State Greater Allegheny is a residential Commonwealth campus of Penn State University, serving students from local, national, and international communities. The campus is committed to a diverse student body, cultural inclusiveness, and equitable experiences for all students.

The successful candidate will:

· Participate in high school visits and college fairs

· Maintain relationships with school counselors

· Manage the recruitment territory from prospect to committed student

· Communicate with students and families throughout the admissions cycle

· Serve Spanish-speaking students and/or families across the region with the enrollment process

· Manage communication with international applicants across the region

· Plan and implement on-campus recruitment events.

· Recruit, manage and train the student ambassador group

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

While the position is based at the Greater Allegheny campus in McKeesport, Pa., candidates should expect to travel throughout the Southwestern Pennsylvania region, with some evening and weekend responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with the Slate CRM, PeopleSoft SIS, and delivering presentations to teens and young adults. The successful candidate will possess:

· Strong writing and public speaking skills

· Attention to detail and ability to multitask

· Commitment to teamwork

· Strong time-management and organizational skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The position also requires:

· PA State Police Criminal Background Check

· PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form

· Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check

· This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.

· A valid driver's license is required

· Fluency in Spanish

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
