The Raytheon Industry 4.0 Automation Systems Engineering team is seeking a leader to take on the role of Sr Manager in support of our McKinney Consolidated Manufacturing Center (CMC) in North Texas.

Candidate will be responsible for leading the adoption, expansion and implementation of I4.0 technologies at Raytheon Surveillance’s McKinney factories. This includes developing and executing a strategic plan, leading a team of engineers, and working with stakeholders/Senior Factory Leaders to ensure the successful implementation of these technologies. Candidate will also be responsible for the development of Automation & I4.0 technology and capability roadmaps for the McKinney factories.

This role will collaborate across factories/functions to manage a complex network of existing and developing factory automation systems. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative, diverse, geographically distributed team of engineers and leaders while working in an Agile framework.

The position will be networked closely with engineers from other Surveillance factories, in addition to Raytheon’s Sensors & Effectors factories.

This position is Onsite. There is no relocation for this position.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering and/or automation engineering with at least 2 years of team leadership experience (Team Lead/REA, IPTL, PM, or functional management)

  • Experience managing a portfolio of projects and/or programs

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience with automation mechanisms, controls, robotics, and/or vision systems

  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum practices

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Existing DoD Secret clearance, with ability to obtain (or current active) SSBI clearance

  • Continuous improvement/growth, quality and analytical mindset

  • Familiarity with I4.0 and Smart Factory principles, technologies and/or techniques

  • Demonstrated mentoring experience

  • Experience with Splunk, Ignition, or SQL

  • Professional engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with preference for Aerospace and Defense factories with automation systems.

  • Experience in managing dotted line relationships across multiple disciplines

  • Experience or education in Model Based Systems Engineering / Digital Thread techniques

  • Development of capital investment plans and appropriations requests (ARs)

  • Understanding of SCADA systems, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and/or IIoT

  • Experience with cyber and/or cyber-physical systems security protocols.

  • Experience with PLCs, MTConnect, and/or Transactional Automation (use of API, XML)

  • Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills and ability to collaboratively with others at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to develop business cases and Return on Investment analyses

  • Experience with Transition to Production

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and/or strengthening customer relationships

  • Proven leadership, problem solving and team building skills

  • Sense of business urgency and drive

  • Proactively identifies and manages changes in project scope, identifies potential problems, and devises contingency plans

Typically Required Education:

  • BS in an Engineering field or the sciences (STEM)=

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
