Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager 1 - Strategic Investments to join our Defense Systems Sector Strategy team. The qualified applicant will become an integral part of a team that provides corporate development, strategic planning and portfolio management expertise to our Sector and Division leadership teams. This position will be located in Mclean, VA or Linthicum, MD.

This position will report to the Director - Strategic Investments and will support the Sector's strategic investment analysis, planning, and execution in accordance with our long-range strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

  • Modeling and analytics support for business development pipeline reviews, business management annual operating plan analysis and investment planning

  • Building investment business case models

  • Support the Sector's inorganic growth strategy, mergers, acquisition, divestiture, and equity investment evaluations, and execution

Ideal Candidate Skill Sets:

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work across different levels of organization

  • Demonstrated experience to influence and build consensus

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Superior communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills

  • Solid business and financial acumen (understanding of key factors that drive business operations and growth)

  • Talent in integrating disparate information into a concise actionable strategic recommendation

  • Extensive experience developing executive briefings and presenting to executive leadership teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business related topic with 6 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in business related topic with 4 years' experience

  • Prior experience in strategic planning, corporate development, investment banking or management consulting

  • Experience conducting strategic planning and corporate financial analysis

  • Experience in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint and Excel

  • Ability to effectively interface at executive levels

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance up to Top Secret

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters's degree in a business or finance related topic

  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and equity investments

  • Strong analytic skills to develop insights to inform key strategic investment decisions

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry

  • Understanding of government cost accounting, financial practices, and standard

Salary Range: $109,800 - $172,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
