Our client is seeking a Consumer Loan Officer Trainee to join their dynamic team in a fast-paced call center environment. Assist with customer service, collections, & credit investigations while learning the key skills necessary for a future Credit Officer role. Part of a structured training program designed to develop skills in credit approval, loan negotiation, & marketing, focusing on customer relations & dealership partnerships. Responsibilities Deliver excellent customer service via phone, in person, & online by resolving inquiries & offering solutions Collect payments on past-due accounts & arrange payment plans Market loan opportunities to customers Process, analyze, & input direct consumer loan applications including identifying the real loan purpose & potential collateral to secure the loan Conduct credit investigations by verifying employment, financial information, & credit history Make credit recommendations & support loan origination decisions to the Credit Officer whether to approve, decline or counteroffer both direct loan & contract credit applications Assist with branch operations & contribute to meet customers\' needs & organization success Qualifications Education: College degree preferred; 2+ years relevant financial experience considered Experience: Knowledge of finance & credit underwriting is a plus Bilingual: Spanish/English is a plus Skills/Aptitude: Strong communication, analytical thinking, & attention to detail Ability & desire to interact with a diverse customer base Ability to accurately apply applicable laws & regulations Ability & desire to learn, effective credit underwriting process Ability & desire to learn, effective negotiation & marketing skills Organizational & time management skills with ability to work under pressure Strong teamwork & interpersonal rapport building skills Display strong business acumen including understanding economics & financing risks Microsoft Office & general computer skills Screenings: Ability to pass a Background Check & Credit Check Professional Development: Willingness to be part of a development program with initial focus on the Credit Officer position with long-term career potential to progress into additional leadership roles.
