Ford Motor Company Homologation & Compliance Engineer in Melbourne, Australia

What you'll do...

You will be working within the International Markets Group Environmental & Safety Compliance team. In this role you will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining the necessary vehicle approvals from Government Authorities, including EU whole vehicle type approvals and other market national approvals, and ensuring past, present, and future program compliance for global products (Ranger and Everest Vehicles) designed and developed by Ford.

This role will be based primarily at our office in Geelong with occasional travel across our multiple Melbourne and You Yangs based sites. We embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working arrangements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver appropriate guidance on regulatory, and quasi-regulatory requirements for world markets.

  • Interface with Program Teams (Marketing, Product Development, Planning, Manufacturing, etc.) on regulatory / homologation requirements.

  • Provide regulatory knowledge transfer and improve awareness amongst product engineers.

  • Prepare and cascade applicable Regulatory and Corporate requirements for forward model programs in support of major program gateways.

  • Develop future certification programs with design responsible engineers.

  • Liaise with Technical Services during witness testing.

  • Collect and consolidate engineering data into final government applications.

  • Submit product applications to government authorities.

  • Respond to regulatory queries from internal and external stakeholders.

You'll have…

  • A tertiary qualification in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or equivalent.

  • Understanding of vehicle systems and how they interact.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within automotive or transport, directly interacting with regulations and government authorities.

  • Collaborative approach to problem solving, to build trust across a diverse cohort of stakeholders.

  • Ability to tell a story, constructed through the analysis of actionable data insights to influence decisions.

  • Understanding of Global Product Development Systems (GPDS) or equivalent Product Development process.

  • Strong project planning skills, with ability to stay organised while managing multiple project components and programs.
