Job Overview
Perform EEGs as requested by ordering physicians. Responsible for the routine operations and maintenance of the EEG Lab.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of an approved course of study in Electroencephalography (EEG).
One (1) year previous experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Performs EEG studies in accordance with standard procedures and policies of the EEG Lab. The brain activity recordings are prepared for physician interpretation.
Appropriately uses the 10-20 measure system and is able to appropriately select monopolar and bipolar montagues for reading.
Reports gross abnormalities to the reading physician immediately.
Performs EEGs brain death determination studies following prescribed procedures, when request.
Able to identify artifact on tracing.
Uses AIDET to explain procedure.
Appropriately prepares files for physician interpretation.
