This position is responsible for performing various tasks spanning the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in support of AutoZone’s Enterprise Communications team. This position requires both a breadth, and depth, of technical knowledge, experience, and aptitude as well as good interpersonal skills and the ability to work, and build relationships, with multiple other business and IT teams to complete daily tasks and resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new, and modify existing, customizations (portlets, themes, hooks, etc.) for our Intranet Portal

• Develop new, and modify existing, web services supporting integration between various internal and external platforms (DocuSign, API Gateway, VMWare Tanzu, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)

• Develop and/or implement and configure new applications, solutions, or platforms using modern technologies to replace legacy systems which fail to meet current business needs

• Modify legacy applications supporting various business processes (communications, electronic signature, recognition,etc.) across multiple functional areas (Enterprise Communications, HR, Loss Prevention, Marketing, etc.) to provide new functionality/capabilities, implement bug fixes, and accommodate changes in technology, security, existing integrations, etc.

• Perform monitoring and recovery for our Intranet Portal implementations and multiple other applications

• Timely respond to, and resolve, support tickets

• Train and mentor other members of the team

• Create clear and concise technical documentation

• Perform code reviews

• Query backend data sources and produce reports

• Work with other IT and business teams

Required:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Wide technical aptitude (able to wear many hats)

• Fast learner with initiative, self-motivation, passion, ownership

• Adherence to AutoZone architectural, design, and development standards and guidelines

• 2+ Years of Experience with any programming language

• 2+ Years of Experience with JavaScript

• 2+ Years of Experience Scripting Languages (Bash, Perl, etc.)

• 2+ Years of Experience with SQL and relational databases

• 2+ Years of Experience with Linux

• Must know how to perform common tasks such as:

• Navigating the filesystem

• Creating, debugging, and testing shell scripts

• Using common tools and commands (ls, less, more, head, tail, vi, grep, history…)

• Moving and Copying Files to and from different servers as well as to and from Linux and Windows

• Must have ability to learn more advanced tools (sed, awk, etc.)

• Experience Must Include:

• Web Services/APIs Development

• Web Development

• Object Oriented Programming (Classes, Objects, Inheritance, Encapsulation, Properties, Methods/Functions, Getters, Setters, Constructors, Collections, Loops, etc.)

• Client-Server Model/Programming

• Relational Databases

• Knowledge of and Limited Experience with:

• Single Page Architecture

• MVC Pattern

• Responsive Web Design

• Java Servlet Containers (specifically Apache Tomcat)

• Apache httpd

• Common Gateway Interface (CGI) Programming

• Tool Familiarity & Experience:

• SSH Clients (putty, mobaXterm, etc.)

• Text Editors (Notepad++, Atom, etc.)

• Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) – Eclipse, Visual Studio, VSCode, IntelliJ, etc.

• SQL Clients (Squirrel, SQL Server Mgmt Studio, Oracle SQL Developer, RocketShuttle, etc.)

• SFTP/FTP Clients (WinScp, FileZilla, etc.)

• REST Clients/API Development Environments (Postman, Advanced REST Client, etc.)

Good to Have:

• · Experience with modern JavaScript Frameworks (specifically React)

• · Deeper front end / design experience
