We are currently seeking a Business Financial Controller to join our team of talented employees!
Role Description
This position is primarily responsible for managing the month-end closing and financial reporting and analysis process for an international Memphis-based fine chemical manufacturer.
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage monthly and quarterly close processes related to US Plants
Implement updated or new accounting processes as required.
Maintain the standard cost system in coordination with operations to verify the accuracy and integrity of the bills of materials, manufacturing routings, and purchasing information records.
Accountable for the recording and reporting of purchase price variances and manufacturing variances.
Responsible for reporting Unit cost for manufactured productions/other variance analysis.
Responsible for all requirements related to external financial audit and other third party compliance requirements (e.g. FDA / Quality procedures)
Specifically, accountable for coordinating with operations to ensure appropriate rigor in the physical inventory verification process, and the coordination with external auditors regarding the results of the control process.
Acting as a liaison with the Operations Function, improve and evolve the weekly / monthly operations reporting to ensure appropriate information is reported on a timely basis.
Design and maintain internal controls to safeguard company’s assets
Attract, develop and retain talent. Ensure focus and alignment with functional and company goals. Provide employees with continuous feedback and coaching using talent-and-performance management tools.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience and Education
Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Chemical industry experience a plus
International experience is a plus
The incumbent must be detail oriented, take ownership of their work and have experience working across all disciplines within an organization
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products with outstanding Excel skills
Interpersonal Skills
Self-motivated and performance oriented.
Ability to complete complex tasks independently, reporting to manager daily and redirecting tasks as necessary.
Effective written and oral communications.
Relocation possible, local candidates preferred.
