Unity House Program Director 2 Vocational Assessment in Menands, New York
Great opportunity at NCP at Unity House of Troy with providing assessments for individuals living with disabilities and barriers to gainful employment.
Position many be eligible for a $750 sign on bonus
Responsibilities:
Schedule and conduct in-person computerized vocational assessments with prospective participants, which will include an initial counseling session.
Use knowledge of vocational rehabilitation to determine appropriate vocational assessment tools
Score and interpret testing data, analyze information from provided educational and medical records, compile a report detailing results.
Use the assessment to determine academic skills, general aptitude and overall vocational interests to match them appropriately.
Recommendations to be submitted to referral source in a timely manner based on detailed reports and the individuals overall employability or training success potential.
May include an in-person review session with participants and referral sources.
Develop and maintain relationships with funding providers as well as community referral sources, such as schools and community groups.
Travel to off-site testing locations (schools, etc.) to help facilitate the employment process.
Promote an environment of inclusion and belonging.
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, and Counseling, Psychology or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree in related program and 3 year's experience with administering assessments and/or counseling required. Valid and clean NYS driver license. Reliable transportation as travel is required. Must have excellent verbal and written skills. Must have excellent time management skills. Must be willing to gain knowledge of educational and employment barriers, faced by individuals with disabilities.
