Required Skills:

Hardware Systems Foundation Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Develop modeling, simulation, test, and emulation platforms for Meta’s machine learning systems.

  2. Responsible for the design, implementation, and support of some of the world’s largest systems.

  3. Shape the future system design of Meta by specifying technical requirements and steering the industry and ecosystem.

  4. Working across many projects in our AI Systems team to shape our system design and development methodologies across Hardware projects.

  5. Develop code and infrastructure for the emulation, simulation, and validation platforms to derive performance requirements for our systems.

  6. Prototype system bringup and test.

  7. Clean, analyze, and interpret data from our network, from test systems, and from simulation.

  8. Define and optimize future network topologies, hardware components, and systems.

  9. Develop and validate tools, models, and algorithms for hardware components, systems, and distributed deep learning networks.

  10. Develop tooling and practices to prototype test systems and correlate observed performance with simulation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires a PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or in a related field.

  2. Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:

    1. Unix or Linux
  3. Proficient coding skills in C++ and Python

    1. Linux Networking and transport technologies
    1. Efficient modeling and simulation of distributed systems
    1. System test development, including hardware and software, AND
    1. Rigorous data analysis and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Public Compensation:

$213,291/year to $231,110/year + bonus + equity + benefits
