Software Engineer, Systems Responsibilities:

1. Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications.

2. Build new features and improve existing products.

3. Work on problems of moderate scope.

4. Push code, drive the development of the systems behind our products, create web applications that reach billions of people, build high volume servers, and be a part of a team to connect people around the globe.

5. Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems.

6. Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming and software engineering.

7. Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks.

8. Receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on-schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills.

9. Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.

10. Actively seek and give feedback in alignment with company Performance Philosophy.

11. Build machine learning models to predict user sensitivity to ads placed within Meta videos and reels.

12. Implement strategies for optimizing revenue, user engagement tradeoff and income received by video creators.

13. Develop new infrastructure to intelligently place ad timestamps within videos in non interruptive intervals and improve ads auction based on user engagement signals.

14. Design and build solutions to negative user ads experiences.

15. Implement mechanisms to boost ads that are more relevant, disable ads containing sensitive topics and reduce the prevalence of ads overlapping with video text.

16. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field. Foreign degree equivalent accepted.

17. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

18. 1. Coding in one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Javascript
19. 2. Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
20. 3. Building highly-scalable performant solutions
21. 4. Distributed systems including sharding, consistency, and availability
22. 5. Algorithms.

Public Compensation:

$214,471/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
