Nammo Defense Systems, Inc., a defense contractor, is the primary USA operation of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Defense Systems Inc. (NDS) develops, manufactures, and supports Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLMs), energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aerospace structures.

We are currently seeking a Lean Six Sigma Leader to join our team.

The Lean Six Sigma Leader Continuous Improvement Leader is responsible for developing and facilitating the successful implementation and use of the Nammo business system enabling the respective site(s) to meet or exceed their Strategy Deployment (SD) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. He / she will have the ability to engage their staff at all stages of the continuous improvement process, from identifying opportunities for improvement assessing, developing and executing process improvement initiatives and operational enhancement programs that deliver strategic value and profitable growth for their business

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist/facilitate strategy deployment (SD) with their site Leadership team.

• Lead the development of a site Kaizen roadmap with implementation and sustainment through tiered Daily Management (DM). This includes facilitating the diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business and providing expert counsel on appropriate lean six sigma (L6S) tools to eliminate them.

• Drive targeted, sustainable improvements in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) by leveraging L6S tools, metrics, consulting and thoughtful change management skills.

• Lead high impact site Kaizen events while facilitating and coaching all levels of the organization.

• Create a sense of urgency, cultural commitment, and excitement at all levels of the organization around the concepts of continuous improvement such as problem solving, striving for breakthrough objectives and setting high expectations.

• Directly provide or facilitate formal and informal L6S training and driving a continuous improvement culture within the organization by prioritizing opportunities and execution of Lean transformation strategy and metrics.

• Coaching for leaders and employees across all parts of the business.

• Contribute to the continuous evolution of Nammo L6S tools, methodology and other CI concepts using external benchmarking and best practices from the external continuous improvement (CI) community.

• Coach leaders to embody the Lean Leader model – Gemba, Process Confirmation, Visual Workplace, creating time and space for problem solving on the shop floor.

• Create a shop floor environment where teammates can see waste and have the skill set to eliminate waste – problem solving, improvements to standard work, etc.

Job Qualifications: (Education/Skills/Experience):

• BS or BA Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent years of experience; master’s degree preferred.

• Min. of 8 - 10 years of increasing responsibilities and internal promotions covering strategy deployment, business optimization and operational execution with at least two assignments / roles within Operations.

• Experience in ideally multiple high-performing and best-in-class manufacturing companies recognized for their strong continuous improvement (CI) culture.

• Deep application experience and mastery of a variety of Lean and Growth tools such as New Product Development, Sales Funnel Management, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvement, Daily Visual Management, 5S, Problem Solving, Visual Project management, Leadership Essentials and Situational Leadership.

• Must be able to provide proof of US Persons and ability to clear ATF background screening.
