Job Description

We have two positions open at this level

Serve as the subject matter expert for the Brand Team to optimize new product launches. Lead strategic planning and development of key marketing pillars such as brand story, positioning, segmentation, creative development, and messaging. Spearhead all marketing initiatives from strategic development to full tactical roll-out including appropriate approval process. The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization, with high expectations and accountability on quality of deliverables in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to achieve financial objectives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional partners to drive business results in a compelling, effective, and timely way. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for developing and managing designated marketing activities for a launch brand in the US oncology organization.

  • Work in a team-based environment assisting in the development of strategies and leading implementation of tactics to maximize sales, market share and profitability for new indications and/or molecules.

  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of Marketing Managers to becomes a high-performance brand team.

  • Lead development and execution of multiple marketing projects in a timely manner.

  • Operate quickly and decisively in a fast-paced, matrixed, and demanding launch environment.

  • Responsible for working closely with medical affairs, market access, market research, sales, and HEOR to ensure execution of one vision for the brand commercially

  • Direct reporting relationship to the Director, US Oncology, Marketing & New Brand Launch

Strategy

  • Actively engage in the development of the launch strategy including gap analysis, market research plan and strategic brand plan.

  • Understand trends in the oncology marketplace using patient and data driven strategic insights to apply on an on-going basis to the marketing plan.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop product positioning and branding.

Tactical Management & Execution

  • Lead or support the development of the strategic business plan and the organization and synthesis of the tactical plan, including appropriate representation of all stakeholders.

  • Manage strategy and project development of tactics that drive consideration of preferred use of AbbVie oncology products within approved indications.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and tactics through measurement and metrics development to ensure positive return on investment and achievement of brand objectives.

  • Work with internal and external cross-functional groups (Legal, Regulatory, Medical, Project Management, Sales Training, Consumer Marketing, Market Analytics and Business Insights) and external (Ad Agency, Digital Agency) to insure integration and consistency of professional business strategies and regulatory compliance of promotional materials.

  • Master and be responsible for all core marketing responsibilities and business processes.

Financial Management

  • Manages P&L responsibilities for brand related to preparation of and management of annual brand budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years in oncology marketing experience (US Market)

  • Strong planning and organization skills.

  • Successful record of accomplishment of people leadership (both with and without formal authority).

  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively cross-functionally.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in oncology products that require a companion diagnostic.

  • New product launch experience

  • Experience managing marketing teams

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products

  • Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies including advertising, digital, external, and internal partners.

  • Demonstrated understanding of principles of market research to draw valid conclusions.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
