What You’ll Do:

Reporting into the CISO, the Security Operations Director for Brunswick will be responsible for leading a team of security analysts and engineers and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Security Operations Center (SOC) and incident response capabilities. The ideal candidate will be an expert in cybersecurity operations, incident management and response with a passion for leading a team and ensuring the security of our organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a SOC team and oversee the day-to-day operations of alerting and response.

  • Manage the development, implementation, and enforcement of playbooks and the incident response plan.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as IT, Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure alignment with company security goals.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership, security vendors, and other external partners to continually enhance the company's security posture and capabilities.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incident response, analysis, and investigation.

  • Conduct investigations into potential security incidents and events, providing technical expertise to assist with containment and eradication of threats.

  • Lead a team of digital forensic analysts and serve as point of contact for internal forensic investigations and litigation holds.

  • Develop and implement security metrics and report on them to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.

  • Manage and maintain security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other security event management systems.

  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities in the system and ensure remediation.

  • Mentor and coach the team, ensuring they remain updated with modern security practices, capabilities, and solutions.

  • Have a continuous improvement mindset to govern the process improvement program for the SOC.

  • Manage career development for the SOC Team, including training and mentoring, conducting performance reviews, and provide the example by exhibiting behaviors to be modeled by team members

Job Specifications:

Required Qualifications:

Experience & Qualifications Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.

  • 8+ years of experience leading a SOC or similar team.

  • Sound understanding of cybersecurity operations, incident response, and cybersecurity incident management.

  • Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, or COBIT) and good practices.

  • Expert knowledge in system security, network security, and cloud security.

  • Technical skills including vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, forensics, and incident response.

  • Excellent leadership and people management experience with skills in coaching and mentoring.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with different teams for optimum results.

  • Certifications in security and related disciplines are an added advantage, such as CISSP, CISM or CISA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a global SOC.

  • Experience with Tenable.

  • Experience with digital forensic tools.

  • Experience with Rapid7.

  • Experience with CrowdStrike.

  • Technical Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM desired.

Travel Requirements:

  • Location Brunswick World Headquarters (WHQ) in Mettawa, IL.

  • Travel 10-15%.
